Woman Allegedly Kills Her Daughter So She Could Marry Her New Boyfriend, Who Was Unwilling to Marry Her While She Had a Child
The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed the arrest of Geviza Fadzai, a 35-year-old woman, in connection with a tragic murder case that occurred on November 25, 2025, at Village 2, Fair Range, Mkwasine.
According to police reports, Fadzai allegedly stabbed her three-year-old daughter in the neck with a knife.
Following the incident, she told a neighbor that the child had been attacked by four unknown assailants. Subsequently, she approached the village head, claiming that the child had died from natural causes.
The truth emerged during the burial preparations when a deep cut was discovered on the victim’s neck, prompting a report to the ZRP in Mkwasine.
Investigations revealed that Fadzai allegedly took her daughter’s life to pursue a relationship with her new boyfriend, who was reportedly unwilling to marry her while she had a child.
The body of the young girl has been sent to Chiredzi General Hospital for a post-mortem examination as the investigation continues.
