Wicknell Chivayo’s In-Laws Robbed of US$75,000 Days After Lobola Ceremony – Authorities are investigating a daring armed robbery at Alpha Omega Farm in Marondera, where US$75,000 in cash was stolen in the early hours of the morning.

The incident occurred just days after businessman Wicknell Chivayo paid lobola for his wife, Lulu Muteke.

While initial speculation linked the stolen cash to Chivayo’s lobola payment, the businessman had previously clarified that he did not spend anywhere near the rumored US$300,000.
In an interview with H-Metro, Chivayo explained that his in-laws charged him less than US$20,000 for lobola.
He further revealed that while he had set aside an additional US$75,000 in his car as a contingency, he never needed to use it.
Instead, the major expenses for the event went towards entertainment, décor, and refreshments.
Now, with the armed robbery happening so soon after the ceremony, speculation is growing about whether the criminals were aware of the cash being stored at the farm.
Sources suggest the robbers may have had inside information, given the precision of their attack and swift escape.
So far, no arrests have been made, and both Chivayo and his in-laws have remained silent on the matter.
Meanwhile, police continue their investigations to track down the suspects behind the high-stakes heist.
