WATCH | Chidzambwa Exposes ZIFA Salary Arrears, Recalls AFCON Player Revolt

Former Warriors coach Sunday Chidzambwa has reignited debate around football governance in Zimbabwe after claiming that ZIFA still owes him US$40,000 in unpaid dues.
Speaking on a podcast, Chidzambwa alleged that he is not alone, revealing that fellow former national team coaches Kalisto Pasuwa and Norman Mapeza are also owed significant sums—US$100,000 and US$200,000 respectively.
The veteran coach went on to recount a dramatic incident during an AFCON campaign when Warriors players allegedly refused to take to the pitch over unpaid allowances, plunging the camp into crisis.
According to Chidzambwa, the standoff forced the technical team into the humiliating position of pleading with players to honour the fixture.
In a startling revelation, he said former Warriors striker Nyasha Mushekwi stepped in at the last minute, paying the players from his own pocket to defuse the situation and avoid national embarrassment.
The claims have once again cast the spotlight on ZIFA’s long-standing financial woes and the unresolved debts that continue to haunt Zimbabwean football.
