Volunteer Doctors to Offer Free Treatment and Enhance Healthcare at Muduvuri Pan African Referral Hospital
MUDUVURI Pan African Referral Hospital in Kadoma is getting a boost in specialist medical services thanks to a group of volunteer doctors who will treat patients for free.
The hospital is well-equipped but hasn’t yet reached its full potential in advanced healthcare.
Dr. Coming Hove, a senior radiologist, led eight doctors on a tour of the facility and emphasized that their work aligns with the idea that “a nation is built by its own people.”
“We wanted to give back to our country. This hospital has modern equipment and the ability to help communities. We’ve decided to offer our expertise to ensure patients can get quality care without having to travel far,” Dr. Hove explained.
Dr. Hove, who also teaches at the University of Zimbabwe, sees the hospital as an opportunity for medical students to gain practical training.
“Not only will we provide specialist services, but I’ll also bring students here for hands-on experience. This will improve both medical education and patient care,” he said.
Surgeon Dr. Kumbula Hove praised the hospital’s facilities, saying it can support advanced medical procedures and improve access to specialist healthcare in the area.
“I’m really impressed with the equipment here. This facility can support specialist treatments and significantly increase access to advanced healthcare for people in this region,” Dr. Kumbula Hove said.
Philanthropist Cde Jimayi Muduvuri welcomed the doctors’ initiative, noting the importance of private-sector support for government efforts.
“We are thankful for the doctors stepping up to support this vision. Our goal has always been to create a center that serves the community with quality healthcare. This shows what can happen when private citizens collaborate with the government for national development,” he said.
This initiative is part of the government’s “Call-to-Action” policy, which encourages collective efforts for community development, reflecting the belief that “a nation is built by its own people.” – ZBC
