In a petition addressed to local authorities, the villagers described the bar as a hotspot for criminal activity, noise pollution, and antisocial behavior. They argue that its proximity to the school and residential areas poses a serious risk to children’s safety and well-being.
“The night club has led to an influx of prostitutes into our community,” the petition reads, with villagers threatening further action to have the establishment’s licenses revoked.
Insiza Rural District Council chief executive officer, Shepherd Tshuma, confirmed that his office is looking into the matter but has not yet received an official complaint.
