‘Under Fire but Undeterred’ Health Ministry Hits Back at ‘Mischievous’ Social Media Attacks-The Ministry of Health and Child Care has hit back at a wave of social media criticism, describing the attacks on public healthcare system as “unwarranted and mischievous.
This comes as the nation continues to grapple with a strained healthcare system plagued by staff shortages, aging infrastructure, and intermittent drug supplies challenges that have fueled growing public frustration, often expressed on digital platforms.
In a statement, the Ministry expressed concern over what it believes to be a “well-orchestrated effort” aimed at selectively highlighting challenges in the sector while ignoring substantial progress made in recent years especially under resource-constrained conditions.
“While we respect the right of citizens to express their concerns, we call for fair, balanced, and fact-based discourse,” read the statement.
