Uncle Kills Niece, Community Demands Justice

PLUMTREE – A 23-year-old prison officer, Prisca Tshuma, was brutally murdered by her uncle, Khuliso Tshuma (35) recently.
According to eyewitnesses, Prisca was stabbed in the neck with an okapi knife while she was sweeping outside her home with her baby strapped to her back.
She screamed for help and attempted to flee but collapsed a few meters away.
A neighbor, Luwiza Dube, rushed to her aid and in her final moments, Prisca urged her to remove the baby from her back before succumbing to her injuries.
Khuliso Tshuma fled the scene, but was later apprehended and appeared before Plumtree Magistrate Joshua Nembaware.
State prosecutor Selestine Madziwa revealed that Khuliso had previously been convicted of raping Prisca and had served a prison sentence before being released through a presidential amnesty.
The magistrate did not take a plea and advised Khuliso to apply for bail at the High Court.
