Two lifeless infants found in Abidjan landfill, illegal abortion clinics suspected

IVORY COAST – Police in Abidjan, Ivory Coast have launched an investigation into the discovery of two dead babies in a landfill on Sunday, amid concerns over illegal abortion clinics operating in the city.

Deputy Director-General for Public Safety Siaka Dosso announced that an investigation is underway regarding the disturbing discovery of two dead babies in an Abidjan landfill alongside human waste including fibroids and umbilical cords.

Abidjan’s Police Chief, Kollo Roger Yeo, revealed that medical equipment, fibroids and human remains were discarded alongside the lifeless infants in the landfill, strongly suggesting that a clinic or hospital was responsible for the illicit dumping.
