Tungwarara’s Daughter Claims Credit for Tap and Go Innovation, Inspired by Dubai’s Modern Transit System

Presidential advisor on investment Paul Tungwarara’s daughter Tinotenda has claimed she is the brain behind the fast-growing Tap and Go transport service, saying she drew inspiration from Dubai’s advanced taxi systems.

Speaking in Mutare, the youthful entrepreneur said she was motivated by President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s call for Zimbabweans in the diaspora to invest back home, a message she took to heart while living in the United Arab Emirates.

“I live in Dubai and I’m happy to be here and have the opportunity to stand in front of you guys,” she said.

“I would like to thank the President for his open doors policies and his call for diasporas to come and invest back home.

“After that call, I decided to open something which we know as Tap and Go.”

She said Tap and Go was born out of her experiences in Dubai, where convenience, technology, and comfort define daily commuting.

“I got the inspiration from Dubai and it’s basically modern taxis which have Wi-Fi and are really reliable,” she explained.

“It’s based in Harare as of right now, but we’re planning to expand it across all provinces in Zimbabwe.”

The young business youth revealed that Tap and Go plans to launch operations soon in Malika Land, promising a grand opening offer that will excite commuters.

“When we bring it here, on the first week we launch it, we’re going to be giving free rides for seven days to everybody,” she announced, drawing applause from the crowd.
