Tragic Accident Involving Zhong Tong Bus: 3 Dead as Vehicle Carrying 62 Passengers Collides with Bakery Van

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has confirmed a tragic road traffic accident that occurred on December 9, 2025, around 3:30 AM at the 156 km mark along the Harare–Bulawayo Road.

A Zhong Tong bus, carrying 62 passengers and heading towards Kadoma, reportedly struck a pedestrian walking in the middle of the road.

The bus swerved into the oncoming lane, resulting in a head-on collision with an Isuzu bakery vehicle that was traveling towards Kwekwe and had one passenger inside.

The crash was devastating, trapping the two occupants of the bakery vehicle, who died at the scene. The pedestrian also lost their life in the accident.

The bodies of the three victims have been taken to Kadoma General Hospital for post-mortem examination.
