Tourist Claims She Was R@ped by Cop While Handcuffed in Police Car
A British woman has accused a police officer of raping her while she was handcuffed in the back of a police car in Aubagne, a town near Marseille, France.
The 37-year-old woman reported that she was picked up by three officers on a street and detained for being “obviously drunk.” She claims that after being handcuffed, she was instructed to get into the police car, where one officer sat beside her and kissed her. She alleges that he then assaulted her, The Sun reports.
One officer has been charged with “rape and sexual assault by a person abusing their authority” and is currently in police custody. Another officer faces charges for failing to prevent the crime and is under judicial supervision. A third officer is classified as an assisted witness.
This incident has drawn attention, especially as it follows a recent case in Paris, where another woman reported being raped near the Eiffel Tower.
The case was initially reported by the French newspaper Libération after the public prosecutor, Nicolas Bessone, informed them of the situation.
