TikToker ‘Kissmore’ Sentenced to Community Service for Cyberbullying

TikToker ‘Kissmore’ Sentenced to Community Service for Cyberbullying – A 25-year-old Harare woman has been sentenced to 240 hours of community service after being convicted of cyberbullying a local businesswoman through a social media post.

The woman, identified as Princess Phiri, was found guilty of posting a video on TikTok in which she allegedly insulted businesswoman Zodwa Mkandla using offensive language.

According to court proceedings, Phiri allegedly referred to Mkandla using derogatory terms in a video that the court ruled was intended to intimidate, threaten, humiliate and cause emotional distress to the complainant.

The video also reportedly contained insults and threats directed at Mkandla’s daughter.

During sentencing, the court initially imposed a 12-month prison term.

However, six months were suspended on condition that Phiri does not commit a similar offence within the next five years.

The remaining six months were commuted to 240 hours of community service.

Phiri’s sentencing comes after she was recently arrested by the Zimbabwe Republic Police over separate allegations of cyberbullying involving fellow TikTok personalities Denzel and his girlfriend, Mello.

Reports indicate that the social media personality allegedly posted several videos attacking the couple, repeatedly insulting them and using offensive language.

Authorities have in recent months warned social media users against abusing online platforms to harass or intimidate others, saying offenders risk facing legal action under Zimbabwe’s cyber laws
