“They Are Not All Mine, I Still Raise Them” — Diamond Platnumz on Fatherhood
Tanzanian music icon Diamond Platnumz has revealed that while he suspects some of the children he’s raising may not be biologically his, he remains unwavering in his commitment to support them all.
In a candid interview, the award-winning artist opened up about the complexities of fatherhood, fame, and personal responsibility.
“I have kids, but I also know that some are not my kids. I don’t want to argue with the mothers, so I take care of all of them,” Diamond said.
Known offstage as Nasibu Abdul Juma Issack, the Bongo Flava superstar has fathered children with several high-profile women across East Africa, including Ugandan entrepreneur Zari Hassan, Tanzanian model Hamisa Mobetto, and Kenyan singer Tanasha Donna.
While he declined to confirm the exact number of children, he hinted at uncertainty.
“Four, five, or six. You know, as I said, these things can sometimes get crazy. I make sure I do my best to take care of all of them.”
According to reports from Legit.ng, Diamond underwent DNA testing in Tanzania, which confirmed that some of the children he has been raising are not biologically his.
Despite the revelations, he chose not to confront the mothers, instead prioritizing peace and continuity in the children’s lives.
“I am cool with all my baby mamas, and their lovers get mad at them. They think there is something between us,” he added, clarifying that his relationships with the mothers are strictly focused on co-parenting.
Diamond Platnumz has long been a fixture in East African entertainment headlines, not only for his chart-topping hits but also for his tumultuous romantic history.
More recently, he made waves again by publicly committing to fellow Tanzanian singer Zuchu, signaling a shift toward stability and maturity.
