The moment Nigerian official fakes fainting during grilling over missing funds – A video of a Nigerian official, Professor Kemebradikumo Pondei, faking a fainting spell during a parliamentary session has resurfaced on social media.

Pondei, the acting managing director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), was being questioned over 536 million nairas (more than Rs260 million) allegedly paid to an organization linked to “Save Lives of Niger Delta People.”

The drama unfolded when the speaker of Parliament asked Pondei if he was aware of expenditures made since May 31 2023.

His eyes rolled, giving the impression that something was seriously wrong.

Alarmed, an official sitting behind him jumped up and tried to check on him.

Despite appearing unresponsive, Pondei’s eyes remained wide open.

More lawmakers rushed to his aid, attempting to revive him by pulling his tongue to prevent him from swallowing it.

At that moment, realizing the situation was escalating, Pondei abruptly “regained consciousness,” raising his hands as if to stop the rescue efforts.

This was not the first time Pondei had collapsed during questioning.

In a similar incident in 2020, he fainted while being grilled by lawmakers at the House of Representatives.

Later, in an interview, he claimed to suffer from a mysterious health condition, denying accusations that he had staged the incidents.
