Teenage Boy Kills Mother with Axe and Cuts Up Her Body
...After She Took His Tablet to Make Him Do His Homework
A 15-year-old boy has admitted to killing his mother with an axe after she took away his tablet to ensure he completed his homework, according to Russian police.
The unnamed boy reportedly struck his mother multiple times on the head while she was lying in bed at their home near Moscow. After the attack, he dismembered her body, nailed her bedroom door shut, and then calmly went to a local shop in Krasnaya Storozhka to buy chocolate.
It is believed that the boy played Minecraft before turning himself in to police in Sergiev Posad, approximately 46 miles northeast of Moscow. The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Alexandra Gabbasova, an accountant at a furniture factory.
Gabbasova had grown concerned about her son’s excessive gaming, which she said often lasted up to 12 hours a day, causing him to neglect his schoolwork. Reports indicate that after discovering her son had not completed his assignments while on sick leave, she confronted him and confiscated his phone and tablet.
According to news outlet Mash, the teenager was upset by her actions, found an axe, and attacked her. Afterward, he went to the police to confess.
Officers reported that she had been killed about four hours before they arrived at the scene. The boy allegedly struck his mother “randomly and chaotically” with the axe. Following his shopping trip and gaming, he used an online search to locate the nearest police station and reported the crime.
The boy is currently in custody and has been described by his teachers as “quiet” and a student who “studied normally.”
