Teen Arrested in Russia After Dressing as Elderly Woman to Plant Car B0mb

Teen Arrested in Russia After Dressing as Elderly Woman to Plant Car B0mb – A 19-year-old Ukrainian national has been arrested in St. Petersburg after allegedly attempting to carry out a car bomb attack targeting a senior official at a Russian defence plant, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has announced.

According to Russian authorities, the teenager—whose name has not been released—was recruited through Telegram by what they claim is Ukraine’s military intelligence service.

In a video confession released by the FSB, the suspect described receiving detailed instructions to carry out the attack, including using an explosive device disguised as a black power bank with magnets for attachment.

The plot, according to investigators, involved the suspect collecting the explosive device from a cemetery, after which he changed into a disguise resembling a “babushka” (elderly woman), complete with a long skirt and headscarf.

At approximately 6 a.m., he allegedly attached the device to the underside of the intended target’s vehicle.

However, Russian intelligence officers say they intervened before the bomb could detonate, arresting the suspect at the scene before he could escape.

In a further development, the FSB confirmed that two additional women—allegedly part of the same spy network—were detained while attempting to flee to the airport.

Authorities describe one of the women as a hairdresser and the other as a pet groomer, though no names have been disclosed.

All three individuals are now facing possible life sentences under Russia’s strict anti-terrorism legislation.

The identity of the alleged target—described only as a senior official at a defence plant—has also not been made public.

Russian officials have linked the incident to broader claims of sabotage operations allegedly being coordinated by Ukrainian intelligence services amid the ongoing conflict between the two nations.
