S£x Worker Robbed & Rap£d After Offering Shelter

S£x Worker Robbed & Rap£d After Offering Shelter – A rainy night in Beitbridge turned into a nightmare for a s€x worker who offered shelter to a man posing as a potential client.

What seemed like a kind gesture quickly became a horrifying ordeal when the man att@cked her, robbing and r@ping her at knifepoint.

The assailant, Moses Mukonowenzou, entered the woman’s home in the Two Rooms Section of Dulivhadzimu suburb under the pretense of seeking refuge from the rain.

Once inside, he strangled her and pressed a knife to her throat, silencing her cries for help. He then stole R200 and a mobile phone worth R800 before raping her.

After the att@ck, he vanished into the night.

Shaken and distraught, the victim immediately informed her friend, and the two reported the incident to the police. Mukonowenzou, a well-known patron at a local bar, was quickly identified and arrested.

During his court appearance before regional magistrate Charity Maphosa, Mukonowenzou pleaded not guilty.

However, the evidence against him led to his conviction.

According to Newsday, Maphosa expressed disappointment in his lack of remorse, stating, “You did this because you believed that commercial s£x workers did not have any rights.”

Willbrought Muleya prosecuted the case.

Mukonowenzou was sentenced to 15 years for r@pe and an additional eight years and six months for robbery, bringing his total sentence to over 23 years.
