Suspected Rustler Axes Seven Cattle in Umguza

BULAWAYO – Police in Bulawayo are investigating a recent cattle-rustling case in which seven cattle were slaughtered near Mpofu Plot E2, Umguza, on the city’s outskirts.

The suspect fled the scene after being disturbed by passers-by.

Bulawayo acting police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Nomalanga Msebele, confirmed that the discovery was made by a whistleblower from Lavendale.

The individual, walking from Woodendale to Lavendale, stumbled upon the carcasses and alerted nearby residents, who reported the matter to authorities.

According to Southern Eye, preliminary findings indicate that the suspect used an unidentified object to kill the cattle before fleeing.

Police are working to identify the owner of the cattle and have appealed to residents in Woolendale and nearby areas for assistance.

Members of the public are encouraged to visit the Zimbabwe Republic Police Nkulumane office with any relevant information.

The incident has unsettled the local community, prompting law enforcement to emphasize vigilance and cooperation to prevent future crimes of this nature.
