Sungura Artist Tatenda Pinjisi Dies After Tragic Road Accident – Sungura musician and Saina hitmaker, Tatenda Pinjisi, has sadly passed away following a tragic road accident along the Harare-Bulawayo Road.

He died after succumbing to injuries sustained in the collision, which initially left him in critical condition in the Intensive Care Unit at Sally Mugabe Central Hospital. He was 35.

The accident occurred on Saturday evening just after the Norton tollgate while Tatenda and his band were en route to a scheduled performance at Macsherp Leisure Centre in Kadoma.

Pinjisi was reportedly behind the wheel when their vehicle collided head-on with an oncoming Hino truck that was overtaking another car.

The impact was devastating, claiming three lives on the spot, including his bassist Naison Tembo, drummer Prosper, and a female passenger.

Pinjisi, who suffered multiple fractures and internal injuries, fought for his life in ICU but eventually succumbed to his wounds.

His untimely d€ath has left the sungura music community in mourning, with fans and fellow artists expressing shock and sorrow over the loss of a young, passionate talent who was steadily rising in Zimbabwe’s music scene.

Simba Saini, founding chairman of the Zimbabwe Diaspora Musicians in Cape Town, expressed his grief, calling Tatenda’s d£ath a blow to the entire music fraternity: “It’s heartbreaking to hear of Tatenda’s passing. He was a hardworking artist trying to make a mark while supporting his family. This is a time for us to unite and support one another.”

Tributes have poured in, remembering Pinjisi not only for his music but also for his dedication and determination in a competitive industry. He will be remembered for hits like Saina and for the legacy he was building in the sungura genre.
