A 21-year-old Automotive Engineering student, Nicson Munesu Madhumhe, has been convicted of fraud by the Kwekwe Magistrates’ Court. Madhumhe submitted a forged HEXCO statement of results to Kwekwe Polytechnic in an attempt to register for “On Job Educational Training” (OJET).
According to the court, Madhumhe failed three modules and instead of rewriting the exams, he paid US$400 to Chancemore Sibanda, the Chief Security Officer at Kwekwe Polytechnic, to falsify his results. Sibanda is currently at large.

In April 2024, Madhumhe received a forged HEXCO statement with distinctions in the failed subjects. However, when he submitted his OJET application, examinations staff noticed inconsistencies in the font size of his results. A check in the National Examinations Management Information System (NEMIS) exposed the fraud.
Madhumhe admitted to obtaining the fake results from Sibanda and was sentenced to 210 hours of community service for his crime.
