Stock theft allegations against Zvishavane businessman dismissed

ZVISHAVANE – Justice Zijena, a prominent Zvishavane cattle buyer and his colleagues have been cleared stock theft allegations after presenting documentation confirming the legitimate purchase of the livestock in question.

A dramatic video of Zvishavane businessman Justice Zijena’s detention at Forty Riston Police Station swept across social media platforms on Sunday, revealing his shocking arrest alongside others for allegedly stealing five cattle during the night.

Midlands provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko confirmed the incident which occurred on Saturday in Lambamayi ward 21, Debeer.

“Justice Zijena, a Zvishavane cattle buyer, legally purchased five cattle from Lambamayi farmers and cleared them with ZRP Zvishavane. The cattle were registered in Ishmael Sibanda’s name and later slaughtered. However, Forty Riston police received a tip-off and visited the scene accompanied by villagers.”

“Forty Riston police requested documents for the cattle transaction which were promptly provided, clearing Zijena of stock theft suspicion.”
