Spell backfires after woman pays traditional healer US$35, son becomes alleged thief

After paying a traditional healer, US$35 for a spell, woman discovers the spell has backfired – her son was the supposed thief
A woman residing in Magwegwe suburb in Bulawayo has become a living example of a proverb after being left heartbroken by the theft of her household property.
Determined to seek revenge on the anonymous band of thieves who had stolen her possessions, she consulted a traditional healer named Sekuru Chimoto from Chipinge.
As reported by B-Metro, after a USD35 payment, the healer cast a spell on the alleged thief, commanding that they would suffer severely unless they confessed and returned the stolen items.
Spell Backfires
However, the spell backfired, and the woman’s son became gravely ill and incapable of speaking or functioning properly.
Upon discovering that it was her own son who had taken her belongings, the woman was left in utter despair. Sekuru Chimoto demanded an exorbitant amount of money ,USD700, to reverse the spell, which the woman could not afford.
Due to her son’s worsening condition, she sold her only remaining asset, a car, to pay the fee. The woman claims that her son has considerably improved since the spell was finally undone.
Traditional healer reacts to spell
Interestingly, after spell backfires after woman pays him, Chimoto appears unconcerned by the outcome, emphasizing that his job is to give clients what they demand, and if it backfires, it is their responsibility to request it be undone, although this will be more expensive.
“I give people what they ask for and if it backfires you re-consult for it to be undone because it is not my fault. I rarely meet my clients in person as they are spread all over the world. However, when I speak to them, I see them in a mirror that I got from my ancestors,” he spoke to B Metro in a phone interview.
The Zimbabwe National Traditional Healers’ Association was initially outraged by the situation, but after deliberating with other healers, they declared it justified to punish thieves in this way despite spell backfires after woman pays for the services.
