Soshanguve Shooting Leaves Four Dead, Eight Injured

SOUTH AFRICA – Four people were killed and eight others injured during a violent confrontation in the Marry Me informal settlement, Soshanguve Extension 3, at 3 a.m. on Saturday.

The incident occurred when community patrollers confronted five men they deemed suspicious.

Provincial police spokesperson Brigadier Brenda Muridili provided detailed confirmation. “At 3 a.m., community patrollers encountered five individuals on the street and attempted to engage them.

The interaction quickly escalated into a heated argument, which tragically led to a violent confrontation.

When police officers arrived at the scene at around 6 a.m., they discovered the bodies of four victims, who had been fatally shot and partially burned,” she stated.

Muridili further confirmed details on the injured. “Eight people sustained injuries during this altercation. They were transported to nearby hospitals using private vehicles and ambulances.”

According to Caxton Media, investigators from the provincial and district serious and violent crime units, as well as forensic experts, are combing the scene for evidence and interviewing witnesses to determine what led to the deadly confrontation.

Public Order Policing units remain deployed in the area to restore calm following the incident, as authorities emphasize the need for stronger community collaboration and law enforcement presence to prevent further violence.
