Son Kills Father With Shovel Over Alleged Affair With Wife
INDIA – A Basoud village resident was arrested on Sunday for allegedly killing his father over an alleged affair with his wife.
Vedpal, the accused, reportedly attacked his father, Ishwar, with a shovel, fatally injuring him before disposing of the body in a nearby forest.
During interrogation, Vedpal alleged that his father, a laborer, had an illicit relationship with his wife, which led to frequent family disputes.
He also claimed Ishwar refused to help him financially with bank loan payments, instead channelling his earnings toward the daughter-in-law.
To deflect suspicion, Vedpal initially lodged a false complaint against unidentified individuals.
According to India Today, the police suspected the involvement of someone close to the victim and detained Vedpal for questioning.
He confessed to the crime and revealed strained personal relationships and unresolved grievances as his motive.
The incident, which took place late on Friday evening, led authorities to recover Ishwar’s body and send it for a post-mortem examination.
Further investigations are underway to gather additional details surrounding the case.
