A 24-year-old man from Gokwe North has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for the brutal murder of his father, whom he accused of witchcraft. Son Beats Father to Death Over Witchcraft Accusations

Tinevimbo Nyika, from Kufazvinei village in Chief Chireya’s area, attacked his 69-year-old father after a heated argument over claims that the elder had bewitched one of his sons.

The deadly altercation occurred on November 18 last year, when Nyika struck his father with a metal rod on the knee and head.

Although the victim managed to flee, Nyika chased him down and delivered another vicious blow to the head, followed by repeated assaults that resulted in his father’s death.

Nyika was convicted at the Gokwe High Court circuit and will serve 20 years behind bars. Son Beats Father to Death Over Witchcraft Accusations
