
Shurugwi Man Faces Murder Charges
Tatenda Hove, a 24-year-old man from Gore, Chief Ndanga, Shurugwi, appeared in court on murder charges following a deadly bar altercation.
The incident unfolded on November 6, 2024, at Donga Hotel Bar, where Hove allegedly confronted a man playing music on a Bluetooth speaker. After forcibly taking the speaker, a heated argument escalated into violence.
Witnesses report that Hove slapped the victim repeatedly before fatally stabbing him with a knife. The injured man collapsed, bleeding heavily, and was rushed to Shurugwi Hospital.
Due to the severity of his injuries, he was transferred to Gweru Central Hospital, where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Hove has been remanded in custody until November 25, 2024, with the court advising him to apply for bail through the High Court.
The tragic incident has left the local community reeling as authorities continue their investigation into the fatal confrontation.
