Shashl Donates Blankets to Chitungwiza Hospital

Zimbabwean musician Shashl, born Ashleigh Angel Moyo and daughter of former Health Minister Dr Obadiah Moyo, has warmed hearts by donating blankets to patients at Chitungwiza Central Hospital.

The gesture has been widely praised as a commendable act of compassion, especially in the current winter season when public health institutions are often overwhelmed and under-resourced.

This philanthropic move marks a shift in the public narrative around Shashl, who trended for controversial reasons back in 2022 after her private videos with then-boyfriend and Zimdancehall producer DJ Levels leaked online.

At the time, social media was abuzz with allegations and counterclaims.

Shashl accused Levels, real name Tinashe Chuma, of leaking their intimate video out of spite after their relationship ended.

In emotional voice notes and interviews, she alleged that Levels had been abusive throughout their relationship—accusations he never publicly addressed in depth.

The scandal escalated further when additional personal content, including a solo explicit image of Levels, surfaced online.

Many speculated that the two were involved in a bitter fallout marked by mutual revenge, but no conclusive evidence ever emerged.

DJ Fantan, co-founder of Chillspot Records and close associate of Levels, made a heartfelt plea to his friend during the crisis, urging him to speak out and not let the backlash destroy his career.

“Bro, don’t forget how far you’ve come,” Fantan wrote at the time. “We’re still waiting for your side of the story.”

Fast forward to 2025, Shashl seems to be turning over a new leaf.

Her recent humanitarian efforts suggest a maturing artist using her influence to give back to the community.
