Shadaya Knight’s “Men’s Getaway Trip” Allegedly Flops as Fans Mock Poor Turnout

Shadaya Knight’s “Men’s Getaway Trip” Allegedly Flops as Fans Mock Poor Turnout – Controversial Zimbabwean social media personality Shadaya Tawona Knight is at the centre of attention after his much-publicized “Men’s Getaway Trip” allegedly flopped, with fans mocking the poor turnout and high cost of attendance.
Many fans argued that in a country grappling with high inflation and low average incomes, the USD $220 price tag was simply unrealistic for the average Zimbabwean man.
Others took issue with the event being exclusively male, with some joking that spending three days without the company of women made the trip even less appealing, especially at such a steep cost.
The three-day, men-only retreat, scheduled for May 16–18 in Nyanga, promised an “Alpha Male” experience complete with adventure activities like quad biking, paintballing, hiking Mt. Inyangani, and zip-lining.
The all-inclusive package, priced at USD $220, included accommodation, meals, transportation, and sightseeing.
Ahead of the event, Shadaya had aggressively promoted it on his social media platforms, inviting male followers to embrace masculinity and brotherhood.
However, the post has since been deleted, fueling speculation that the event did not attract enough participants.
On X (formerly Twitter), users were quick to ridicule Shadaya and the failed retreat.
“The Alpha male community failed their own goat. This event flopped beyond recognition,” wrote @six_papi.
Others criticized the event’s concept and pricing, with @RudhuZ commenting, “$220 in this economy? Come on. Who in their right mind would pay to get a lecture ya Shadaya?”
@TheShonaQueen added, “Hakuna murume akakwana anoenda uko kuno leadwa na Shadaya,” implying no sane man would attend such a retreat.
@floyangu joked, “Target market yacho inawo here mabhuru 2+,” questioning whether the intended audience could even afford the event.
Despite the online buzz, Shadaya and the event’s organizers, Zambezi Elite Travel, have yet to address the outcome publicly.
