Seventh Suspect Nabbed in Chilling Murder of Ruwa Businessman Mutangadura

Police have confirmed the arrest of a seventh suspect in connection with the cold-blooded killing of prominent Ruwa businessman, Joseph Mutangadura, who was gunned down at his farmhouse in August.

The latest arrest brings to seven the number of suspects now in custody following the brutal slaying that shocked the Ruwa community and beyond.

According to Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi, officers arrested Webster Nhau (57) of Ruwa over the weekend.

“The ZRP confirms the arrest of Webster Nhau (51) in connection with the robbery and murder of businessman Joseph Mutangadura (67) on August 17, 2025, at Mutangadura Hideout Farm, Ruwa,” said Nyathi.

“The suspect was arrested near his residence along Dustan Road, Ruwa, on November 2, 2025. Police have now arrested seven suspects linked to the case.”

Nhau’s arrest follows a series of police operations that have seen multiple suspects captured in recent weeks.

Among those already behind bars are Given Mandizadza (34), Phillip Mutasa (38), and Anesu Machadu (32), who have since appeared in court.

According to NewZimbabwe, another suspect, Vengesai Jabulani Mutasa (41), was caught in a dramatic showdown after he shot and killed a police officer in Sanyati, Mashonaland West province, before being subdued.

Last week, the police also rounded up Tariro Mutsamanye (34) and Dexter Mugaro (31), tightening the noose around what authorities describe as a well-organised criminal ring behind Mutangadura’s death.

Police investigations are ongoing as detectives piece together what is now one of Zimbabwe’s most shocking murder cases of the year.
