Second Suspect Nabbed in Mutangadura Murder Case

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has arrested a second suspect in connection with the brutal robbery and murder of prominent businessman Joseph Mutangadura.
Mutangadura, a well-known businessman was killed at his Ruwa hideout on August 17, 2025 during a robbery at his private lodge—the Mutangadura Hideout along Dunstan Road, Ruwa, in what police described as a carefully planned operation.
Police confirmed the arrest of Given Mandizadza (34), who was tracked down by detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Homicide following a tip-off from members of the public.
“On 13th October 2025, detectives received information on the whereabouts of the suspect.
“Acting on the tip, the team tracked him to the intersection of Robert Mugabe Road and Julius Nyerere Way in Harare, where he was arrested,” said ZRP national spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi in a statement.
During the arrest, police recovered a cache of weapons and explosives, including two pistols one loaded with seven live rounds along with three .

32 long cartridges, two fuses, two explosives, a baby grinder, and a black monkey hat found in the back seat of a white Isuzu vehicle used by the suspect.
Commissioner Nyathi commended the public for their cooperation, saying:
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police applauds members of the public for providing valuable information that led to the arrest of the suspect.
‘We continue to urge citizens to report criminal activities promptly to assist ongoing investigations.”
Mandizadza’s arrest follows that of Phillip Mutasa (38), who was apprehended earlier in connection with the same case.
Investigations are still in progress.
