Scandal Rocks Zambia’s Entertainment Industry: Film CEO Arrested After L£aked S£xtape With Employee – A storm is brewing in Zambia’s entertainment circles following the circulation of an explicit video allegedly involving renowned actress and influencer Mwaka Halwiindi.
The leak has since led to the arrest of filmmaker and former Hot FM Zambia CEO David Kazadi, prompting widespread public reaction and institutional fallout.
The controversial footage, which surfaced online late last week, depicts a young woman strongly resembling Halwiindi in a compromising situation.
As the graphic video rapidly spread across social media platforms and messaging apps, it triggered outrage, speculation, and concern regarding issues of privacy and digital ethics.

Authorities acted swiftly in response. Halwiindi was taken in for questioning as law enforcement agencies launched an investigation into the video’s origin, its circulation, and the identities of those involved.

Although it is yet to be confirmed whether Kazadi appears in the footage or played a role in its production or distribution, he remains in custody as investigations continue.
The professional relationship between Halwiindi and Kazadi has added complexity to the case.
The two previously collaborated under Kazadi Films, a subsidiary of Hot Media Group, chaired by Kazadi’s uncle Oscar Chavula. Their project “Day In My Life | Work pt1” became a viral success, showcasing Halwiindi’s life as a creative personality.
Kazadi, meanwhile, rose to fame in 2020 with “Black Dollar”, a groundbreaking Zambian film that earned global attention after being linked to Netflix. The film’s success positioned him as a trailblazer in local cinema.
However, following his arrest, Hot FM Zambia issued an official statement announcing Kazadi’s immediate dismissal as CEO.
The statement, signed by board chair Oscar Chavula, emphasized the station’s commitment to professionalism, accountability, and the need to maintain public trust during the sensitive situation.
“Mr. Kazadi no longer holds any role within Hot FM Zambia or its affiliates. An interim leadership team has been appointed to ensure business continuity,” read part of the statement.
The station assured listeners and partners that regular programming would proceed without disruption and pledged full cooperation with the authorities.
While no formal charges have yet been filed, the case continues to divide public opinion online.
Legal experts are cautioning against social media speculation, reminding the public of the principle of innocent until proven guilty and urging respect for privacy during ongoing investigations.
Beyond the scandal, the incident raises important conversations about the responsibilities of public figures, the limits of digital privacy, and the lasting consequences of leaked intimate content in the digital age.
For now, both Mwaka Halwiindi and David Kazadi remain under intense public scrutiny.
