“Salt Is Good—Even Jesus Said So” – Pastor Chris Sparks Controversy Over Medical Advice

Nigerian pastor and LoveWorld Incorporated founder, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, has sparked debate after urging his followers to disregard medical advice on salt consumption.

His sermon on Sunday, May 4, has triggered widespread discussion on faith, health and medical science.

During his sermon, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome played documentaries showing doctors disputing claims that salt is harmful to the body.

These medical professionals argued that while excessive salt intake may pose health risks, eliminating it entirely could be dangerous and contribute to certain ailments.

According to Apples Bite, the documentaries featured experts who challenged mainstream medical recommendations regarding salt consumption.

Oyakhilome used his arguments to support his claim that doctors may be misleading the public about the true effects of salt.

“We listen to the so-called professionals, and many have died listening to them.

Think of how many people have suffered strokes and all kinds of ailments because they listened to their doctor. Many have entirely removed salt from their meals,” he stated.

As reported by Daily Blast NG, Oyakhilome emphasized that salt is essential and referenced Mark 9:50, where Jesus described salt as good.

He further claimed that hospitals secretly administer salt to patients in different forms, despite discouraging direct consumption.

His statements have sparked mixed reactions online, with some supporting his perspective, while others warn that such advice could lead to serious health risks.

Critics caution that ignoring medical advice may increase cases of high blood pressure and stroke, raising concerns about the impact of religious influence on health decisions.

While the debate continues, Oyakhilome maintains that his teachings are guided by spiritual revelation.

However, medical experts caution against excessive salt intake, reinforcing established scientific research on its role in human health.
