A 58-year-old man tragically lost his life after being struck by a goods train yesterday morning.
The individual identified as Zondayi Supiya from Kadengu Farm, was reportedly seating on the railway line at the time of the accident.
Eyewitnesses stated that the train driver sounded the horn in an attempt to alert Supiya, but he allegedly did not respond to the warning and remained on the tracks.
The impact of the train was fatal, and Supiya was thrown off the railway line upon collision.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene, and Supiya’s body was subsequently taken to Rusape District Hospital for examination.
