Runaway Zebras Safely Captured After Roaming Bulawayo CBD – Two zebras that caused widespread curiosity after being spotted roaming Bulawayo’s central business district have been safely captured and relocated to the Free to Be Wild Sanctuary in Burnside.
Wildlife conservationist Baye Pigors said the animals were likely forced into the city by human activity on the outskirts of Bulawayo.

“We suspect they received pressure from dog poachers on the outskirts of the Bulawayo region, which is how and why they were pushed into town. Confused and disoriented, they didn’t know how to escape,” Pigors said.
She confirmed the zebras are now safe and under observation.
