Ruben Amorim Set to Become Manchester United’s New Manager
Ruben Amorim is expected to be announced as Manchester United’s new manager on Thursday after the club reached an agreement with Sporting Lisbon.
The 39-year-old will remain with Sporting for their next three matches, including a Champions League game against Manchester City.
Amorim is likely to take charge at Old Trafford during the November international break, with his first match against Ipswich Town on November 24.
Reports indicate that United paid an extra one million euros over his 10 million euro ($11 million) release clause for an early exit.
United decided to part ways with Erik ten Hag after a 2-1 loss to West Ham left them in 14th place in the Premier League.
Interim manager Ruud van Nistelrooy recently led the team to a 5-2 victory against Leicester in the League Cup.
Despite significant summer spending, Ten Hag was dismissed due to the team’s poor start, winning only one of their last eight matches
