Reckless Driver’s 360-Degree Spins in Bulawayo Spark Public Outcry

BULAWAYO – In a shocking display of recklessness, a driver performed daring 360-degree spins at the busy intersection of George Silundika Street and 9th Avenue, putting countless lives at risk and sparking outrage across Zimbabwe.
The incident, captured in a video posted on Crime Watch Zimbabwe’s Twitter account, highlights a growing concern over road safety and illegal stunts in the country.
The video, captured in broad daylight, shows the driver performing a dangerous 360-degree spin at the intersection.
The stunt, which was carried out in full view of pedestrians and motorists, put many lives at risk. This shocking display of recklessness has left many wondering what could have prompted such behavior.
The incident has sparked widespread outrage on social media, with many Zimbabweans condemning the driver’s actions. “This driver clearly has no regard for the safety of others. He should face serious consequences, including losing his license!”.
Another user added, “It’s terrifying to think that someone would pull such a stunt in a public space. Stronger laws are needed to deter this madness.”
Furthermore, some users pointed to the influence of social media, suggesting that the driver’s actions were motivated by a desire for online fame. “All for likes and attention?” asked one user.
In response to the public outcry, calls for tougher penalties, including impounding vehicles involved in such stunts, have gained traction. Many are demanding that authorities take decisive action to prevent similar incidents.
Bulawayo police have launched an investigation into the stunt, with Acting provincial police spokesperson Inspector Abednico Ncube urging members of the public to come forward with any information about the driver.
“We are taking this matter seriously. Dangerous driving is a criminal offense, and those found guilty will face legal consequences,” said Ncube.
