Raising a Glass to 110 years: Bridget Grocke’s secret to a long and happy life

A 110-year-old Australian great-grandmother, Bridget Grocke has celebrated her birthday, crediting her remarkable longevity to a daily habit of enjoying a can of Emu Export beer.
Bridget who turned 110 on November 18 has been enjoying her daily beer for the past six decades, a habit she believes has contributed to her remarkable health and longevity.
Grocke’s love for Emu Export beer has become a beloved family tradition, with her daughter, Jan Robertson revealing that her mother’s “great sense of humour” and positive approach to life have also played a significant role in her longevity.
Emu Export is a popular Australian beer brewed in Western Australia, with a moderate 4.2% alcohol content. It’s been a staple in Aussie bars and homes for over a century.
Bridget has received numerous letters from the UK Royal Family, including the late Queen Elizabeth II and King Charles III, congratulating her on her milestone birthdays.
Despite being 110, Bridget is not the oldest Australia, that title belongs to Lorna Henstridge who is also 110 but was born five months before Bridget.
The oldest person alive today is Tomiko Itooka, a 116-year-old Japanese woman living in a nursing home.
