R. Kelly’s Daughter Accuses Him of Sexual Abuse

Buku Abi, the 26-year-old daughter of R. Kelly, has publicly accused her father of sexually abusing her during her childhood.

In the two-part documentary ‘Karma: A Daughter’s Journey’, released on TVEI Streaming Network, Abi revealed that the alleged abuse occurred when she was around eight or nine years old.

She recounted first informing her mother about the incidents in 2009, when she was approximately ten years old.

R. Kelly, whose full name is Robert Kelly, is currently serving a 31-year sentence in a federal prison in North Carolina after being convicted of multiple child sexual abuse charges in 2021 and 2022. DailyMail.com has reached out to his attorney for a comment regarding Abi’s allegations.

In the documentary, Abi described her father as her “everything” and expressed her initial disbelief that he could harm her. She admitted to feeling too scared to discuss the abuse with anyone, including her mother.

While she did not provide specific details in the first episode, she stated that prison was a “well-suited place” for her father based on her experiences with him.

Abi emphasized the profound impact the alleged abuse had on her life, saying, “One millisecond completely changed my whole life.”

She noted that her visits with R. Kelly ended after she reported the abuse, and her siblings also ceased their contact with him.

In the second episode, Abi tearfully recounted a specific incident, stating, “I just remember waking up to him touching me.”

After confiding in her mother, they filed a police report, but the delay in reporting hindered their ability to seek justice.

R. Kelly’s attorney, Jennifer Bonjean, denied the allegations, asserting that similar claims made by his ex-wife were investigated and found unsubstantiated.

The latest accusations against R. Kelly come amid ongoing scrutiny of his past behavior, further complicated by the 2019 documentary ‘Surviving R. Kelly’.
