Prophetess Matimbire Delivers US$7,500 Grocery Lifeline to Ingutsheni Hospital

Ingutsheni Psychiatric Hospital has received a donation of groceries valued at US$7,500 from Daughters of Virtue (DOV), an interdenominational prayer ministry led by Prophetess Memory Matimbire.

The donation, handed over on Saturday, is part of the ministry’s ongoing outreach efforts to support vulnerable communities and strengthen mental health care in Zimbabwe.

DOV Vice President Pastor Blessed Marara said the donation reflects the organisation’s commitment to uplifting lives through faith and action.

“Prophetess Memory Matimbire of Daughters of Virtue has made it a tradition to give back to the less privileged.

“This year, we chose to support Ingutsheni Psychiatric Hospital as part of our commitment to improving mental health care and supporting those in need,” he said.

The donated groceries are expected to ease the hospital’s operational burden and improve nutrition for patients undergoing psychiatric treatment.

Pastor Marara noted that last year, the ministry donated 600 blankets to Chitungwiza General Hospital.

“Recognising the importance of mental health, we decided to contribute food items to Ingutsheni, a vital government healthcare facility. We believe such donations can significantly enhance patient well-being and aid recovery,” he added.

Clinical Director Dr Wellington Ranga welcomed the donation, describing it as a timely and compassionate gesture.

“I want to express my gratitude for this donation. I thank Daughters of Virtue for such a kind gesture. I am happy people like this organisation remember our patients.

“It will go a long way in improving the welfare of our patients and aid in their healing,” said Dr Ranga.

He emphasised that acts of kindness like these make a real difference in the lives of those battling mental illness.

According to NewsDay, Daughters of Virtue International operates several outreach departments, including the Hannah Department, which supports women facing infertility through prayer and spiritual guidance.

The initiative was inspired by Prophetess Matimbire’s personal journey, having endured six years of barrenness before being blessed with children.

Since 2018, the Hannah Group has recorded over 1,124 pregnancies and 4,624 births, including 38 sets of twins and one set of triplets.

The ministry hosts “Hannah Camps” and prayer meetings based on the biblical story of Hannah in 1 Samuel, offering hope to women trusting in divine intervention.

“This initiative provides hope and spiritual support to women trusting in God’s timing and blessings,” said Pastor Marara.

Daughters of Virtue continues to champion faith-driven outreach programmes that uplift communities, promote healing, and reinforce the power of compassion in transforming lives.
