Prophet Busted Mid-Sermon for Kissing Female Follower
Chegutu’s popular prophet, Timothy Michael of New Generation Church, was dramatically arrested during a church service on Saturday, leaving his congregation in shock.
The prophet is facing allegations of sexual abuse after reportedly kissing a female member of his congregation.
Eyewitnesses initially believed the arrest was part of a sermon, as some modern-day preachers are known for using theatrics to deliver their messages. However, it quickly became clear that the arrest was real.
According to sources, the female congregant reported Prophet Michael to the police after he allegedly demanded a kiss from her.
The woman reportedly stood her ground and called him out during the service, which led to the prophet’s arrest.
Mashonaland West provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Ian Kohwera, could not immediately confirm the arrest, saying he had yet to receive the official report.
However, a senior church member, Venjai Jowo, confirmed the incident but declined to comment further.
Sources close to the situation revealed that this may not be the first time Prophet Michael has behaved inappropriately toward female congregants, suggesting a pattern of abuse.
“This is the first woman who had the courage to speak up. When he demanded a kiss, she refused and confronted him,” said one source who spoke on condition of anonymity.
The case is still under investigation, with Prophet Michael expected to face charges of sexual abuse.
