President Mnangagwa Reshapes Diplomacy With Four New Ambassadorial Appointments

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has appointed four ambassadors to key international missions, reinforcing Zimbabwe’s foreign policy agenda of engagement and re-engagement.

The appointments were announced in an extraordinary Government Gazette published on Wednesday.

Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Martin Rushwaya, confirmed the deployments, which were made under Section 204 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe.

Ambassador Patrick Mutasa has been named Zimbabwe’s representative to Cuba.

Ambassador Lovemore Mazemo will serve in South Africa, while Ambassador Isaac Moyo has been posted to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Ambassador David Hamadziripi will head the mission in the United States of America.

The government says the new postings are expected to enhance bilateral relations and open fresh opportunities for cooperation in line with Zimbabwe’s foreign policy thrust.

The Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation (ZBC) reported that the appointments reflect a strategic move to deepen Zimbabwe’s global footprint and strengthen ties with nations of economic and geopolitical significance.

The ambassadorial reshuffle comes as Zimbabwe intensifies efforts to reposition itself on the international stage, with the newly appointed envoys expected to advance national interests and promote the country’s image abroad.
