Following this wave of visibility, UK-based Cameroonian LGBTQ activist and media personality Bandy Kiki recently celebrated a milestone of her own.
On Tuesday, March 25, 2025, she announced her marriage to her Nigerian partner, Jenny.
“Yesterday, I became Ijaw by marriage,” Kiki shared in a social media post, marking her union with Jenny, who hails from Nigeria’s Ijaw ethnic group.
Kiki, who publicly came out as gay in 2017, has been an outspoken advocate for LGBTQ rights.
