The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) is investigating a gruesome multiple murder in which five members of the same family were killed at Plot 9, Ona Farm, Guruve, on the night of December 11, 2025.
Police allege that the suspect, Anymore Zvitsva, attacked a female adult, her two children and two grandchildren in what authorities have described as a callous act of violence.
The deceased have been identified as Grace Zvitsva (66), Loice Chiringaushe (37), Takudzwa Kariva (5), Tatenda Chirenje (2) and Tendai Zvitsva (40).

In a statement, ZRP national spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said a neighbour was alerted by noises coming from the victims’ homestead and went to investigate in the company of two other villagers.
“Upon arrival, the neighbour observed bloodstains at the kitchen doorstep and found Tendai Zvitsva unconscious and bleeding profusely with deep cuts to the chest,” Nyathi said.
He said further inspection of the homestead revealed extensive bloodstains, with the bodies of Grace Zvitsva, Loice Chiringaushe, Takudzwa Kariva and Tatenda Chirenje found lying in the main bedroom.
“The search continued in other rooms, leading to the rescue of five grandchildren who had been sleeping in a spare bedroom and were found unharmed,” Nyathi said, adding that Tendai Zvitsva was rushed to Guruve Hospital, where he died upon admission.
He also said police have since intensified the manhunt for the suspect.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police is investigating this callous multiple murder incident and has deployed drone technology and specialised teams, including the Support Unit, Criminal Investigations Department, Canine, Horse Patrols and intelligence units, to conduct close surveillance in forested and mountainous areas where the suspect is believed to be hiding,” he said.
“Members of the community, including traditional leaders, are cooperating with the police to ensure that the suspect is arrested,” Nyathi said.
Police further allege that the suspect is linked to other recent murder cases in Zimuna Village under Chief Bepura, where Pamela Chipangura, Kudzai Chipangura and Tawand Chipangura were killed.
“These cases are still under investigation, and the Zimbabwe Republic Police will update the public as more information becomes available,” Nyathi said.
Investigations are continuing.
