Paul Pogba is reportedly in negotiations with Juventus to terminate his second spell with the Serie A club.
The discussions come on the heels of a significant ruling by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), which reduced Pogba’s initial four-year doping ban to just 18 months.
This decision allows the midfielder to return to competitive football in March, with training set to resume in January.
Despite the heartache caused by his doping suspension, sources indicate that Pogba is likely to seek a fresh start away from Juventus.
His current contract, which runs until June 2026, may be cut short through a mutual agreement with the club. Once finalized, Pogba plans to focus on finding a new team.
The past year has been emotionally challenging for the 31-year-old, and he believes a clean break would benefit both him and his family.
While he cherishes his time at Juventus and the bonds he has formed with teammates, Pogba feels that moving on is the best option.
Pogba is also looking forward to supporting the France national team during the upcoming international break.
He hopes to reconnect with head coach Didier Deschamps, who has provided strong support during his ordeal. Despite the setbacks, Pogba remains committed to his international career and aims to don the French jersey once again.
The France Football Federation has publicly backed Pogba throughout his suspension, sharing a video to reinforce their support. The official announcement of CAS’s decision regarding Pogba’s appeal is expected on Monday.
The ruling clarified that Pogba inadvertently took DHEA, a banned substance that boosts testosterone, and emphasized that it primarily affects females.
The midfielder received the ban after playing for Juventus in their opening match of the 2023/24 season against Udinese on August 20.
