Pastor Denies Paternity Despite DNA Proof

He Refuses to Support 14-Year-Old Daughter

Knowledge Mangezi, a pastor from a local Pentecostal church in Kwekwe, is under fire for neglecting a child he fathered nearly 14 years ago. Despite DNA test results proving he is the father, Mangezi continues to deny responsibility. Pastor Denies Paternity Despite DNA Proof

He insists on a second DNA test, claiming the initial results “might have been tampered with.” The first test took place in November last year. However, when it came time for the second test last month, Mangezi never showed up.

The child, now 13, lives with her aunt and goes to school in Bulawayo. In 2010, Mangezi allegedly impregnated Lindiwe Chiocha. After giving birth, Chiocha brought the child to Mangezi, but he denied responsibility, reportedly due to pressure from his brother.

In 2013, Chiocha left the child with her own mother and moved to South Africa to seek better opportunities. She eventually married there and never returned.

The child’s aunt, Chaturuka, confronted Mangezi at his church in July. She accused him of caring more about the church’s reputation than his daughter’s well-being. “These modern-day pastors deceive everyone,” Chaturuka said. “They focus on appearances while ignoring real responsibilities.”

She explained that Mangezi has denied his daughter since she was born and has never supported her. Chaturuka stepped in to help raise the child when her grandmother could no longer afford to, but now she is struggling financially and urges Mangezi to step up.

When H-Metro contacted Mangezi, he initially denied fathering the child. However, after being informed that H-Metro had a copy of the DNA results, he admitted to impregnating Chiocha.

Mangezi blamed his actions on youthful mistakes and claimed he is now discussing with his wife how to bring the child into their family.

He failed to explain any previous financial support for the child but said he has been sending money to Chaturuka since January. Mangezi feels he is being extorted and plans to fight for custody.

He expressed his desire to follow cultural procedures with the child’s maternal family before taking her in. Mangezi acknowledged the importance of accepting the child as a blessing from God. Pastor Denies Paternity Despite DNA Proof
