Norman Mapeza Set to Leave FC Platinum, Hardrock FC Plot Bold Move for Veteran Coach

ZVISHAVANE – After years of lifting trophies and building a legacy at FC Platinum, veteran coach Norman Mapeza is reportedly preparing to step down at the end of the current Castle Lager Premier Soccer League (PSL) season.

Strong indications suggest he could be heading to Central Region Division One leaders Hardrock FC, in what would be a bold new chapter in his decorated career.

Sources close to the development reveal that Mapeza is tipped to join the Kwekwe-based outfit next year.

While both clubs have yet to issue official statements, insiders confirm that negotiations are already underway and a deal could be finalized once the season concludes.

Hardrock FC, currently leading the Central Region Division One standings, are favourites for promotion to the PSL for the first time in their history.

The club’s management is reportedly determined to secure a seasoned coach who can guide them through the transition into top-flight football and Mapeza’s track record makes him the ideal candidate.

According to Nehanda Radio, Hardrock FC’s pursuit of Mapeza is being interpreted as a strategic move that reflects the club’s growing ambition to compete at the highest level of Zimbabwean football.

Mapeza’s coaching résumé is among the most impressive in Zimbabwean football.

He has led FC Platinum to multiple league titles and continental campaigns, earning widespread respect.

His brief stint with South Africa’s Chippa United added international experience to his portfolio before he returned to Zvishavane to continue his winning run.

Hardrock’s rise has been remarkable. With promotion within reach, the club is now focused on building a competitive squad capable of surviving and thriving in the PSL.

Bringing in Mapeza would not only strengthen their technical bench but also send a clear message to rivals:

Hardrock is ready to challenge the elite.

As the curtain begins to fall on the current PSL season, the football fraternity awaits official confirmation.

If the move goes through, it could mark the beginning of a new era for both FC Platinum and Hardrock FC and for Mapeza, a fresh challenge that could further cement his legacy.
