Nollywood Star Clem Ohameze Slams Fake Stroke Claims, Calls Out Cyberbullying

NIGERIA – Veteran Nollywood actor Clem Ohameze has publicly denied viral social media claims alleging he is suffering from a stroke and has been abandoned by his children.

In a video released on Saturday, the 60-year-old actor described the rumors as false, malicious, and an attempt to damage his reputation.

The controversial post, which circulated widely on Facebook, claimed Ohameze had been battling a stroke for over two decades and was being cared for solely by his daughter, while his sons had allegedly turned their backs on him.

The post quoted him as saying, “Since I had a stroke, my daughter is the only person who has not given up on me… If my daughter had not been born, I would have been dead more than a decade ago.”

Ohameze strongly rejected the claims, stating that the quotes attributed to him were fabricated.

He confirmed that he has reported the matter to both the Nigeria Police and the Department of State Services (DSS), describing the incident as a case of cybercrime.

“I have initiated a police case. I have sent his number and name to them. This is a cybercrime. I called my friend, who is a director in the DSS.

“It has cost me a lot to come this far in my life. I will not let someone rubbish me just like that for cheap popularity because you want to attract traffic to your page,” he said.

The actor also expressed frustration over repeated false reports about his health and personal life, referencing previous rumors of his death.

“The other time, it was that I was dead, now it is that I had a stroke. I said this and that, but who did I grant the interview to?

“Do I have three sons? What nonsense is this? Why don’t you call and reach out to me and confirm?” he asked.

According to MSN News, the actor said the misinformation had caused distress within his family, although only his daughter had heard about the post at the time.

“Now, you have succeeded in smearing my name all over the world. I guess he is satisfied.

“I had to call my children, and fortunately, it was only my daughter who heard about it. Why would people do this to me?” he said.

Ohameze urged the public to disregard the viral claims and warned that legal action would be pursued against the individual responsible.
