“No Man Should Twerk for Donations” — Snowball Tongogara Urges Government to Regulate Content Creators

“No Man Should Twerk for Donations” — Snowball Tongogara Urges Government to Regulate Content Creators – Controversial Zimbabwean socialite, Snowball Tongogara, has sparked heated debate online after publicly calling on the Minister of Information, Jenfan Muswere, to take firm action against male content creators who, in his view, compromise their dignity in exchange for financial handouts.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Tongogara wrote:

“No man should twerk for another to give them donations in money, cars, or any other form. I am appealing to our parliamentarians to revisit cyber laws and regulate the content creators. No man should wear a dress.”

His comments come in the wake of a viral video featuring popular online personality Mama Vee and an unidentified Nigerian man.

In the video, the man speaks provocatively about an alleged intimate moment with Mama Vee, saying:

“When I was spreading your nyash like a loaf of bread, you know,” — to which both laugh.

Mama Vee quickly pleads with him to retract his statement, fearing it might be taken out of context.

Despite her protests, the man insists he’s her sponsor and boldly declares:

“I’m the man. I’m the one sponsoring the rice. You guys relax.”

This exchange triggered a flurry of reactions online, with many criticizing the perceived erosion of cultural and moral values among Zimbabwean content creators.

Prominent voices like gospel artist Mudiwa Hood supported Tongogara’s sentiments, tweeting:

“100% agree… this should stop and be criminalized. We do not allow varume vafemere vamwe varume in our country! NOT in Zimbabwe…For the sake of our children, content creators and their should indeed be regulated… content should reflect correct moral standing of our beautiful culture not men wearing dresses or chingito… nezariro yakaita mabebi akanaka muZim ofarirra mumwe murume… vakati vamwe havafarire mvura nxaaa”

@ Ziyapapa1:  “No man should twerk for another to give them donations in money, cars or any other form.”

@ MarufuMunashe: “After reading comments,,, l can safely say ngotshan dzakazara and they are defending theirs”

Others, however, defended content creators’ freedom.

@mwana_wekani01 commented: “As a woman, siyai munhu aite zvaanoda… he’s not hurting anyone. I’m not a fan, but leave him be.”

@ WesyThe: “Regai vanhu vatsage mari vakomana”
