“No Gaffa, No Party” Outrage as Fans Threaten Boycott Over Winky D’s Castle Tankard Snub
Zimbabweans are expressing outrage after Castle Lager ZW unveiled the 2025 Castle Tankard lineup without Zimdancehall superstar Winky D.
The award-winning artist, who has consistently headlined the festival for more than six years and attracted massive crowds to Borrowdale Racecourse, will not be part of this year’s edition, scheduled for May 10.
The newly announced lineup includes Alick Macheso, Enzo Ishall, Oriyano, Delroy Shewe, Chillspot and Nissan Ts.
However, Winky D’s absence has sparked frustration among fans, many of whom have turned to social media to express their disappointment over the omission.
iHarare reports that social media platforms have been flooded with comments from angry fans, with many vowing to boycott the event unless Winky D is reinstated.
Phrases such as “No Gaffa, No Party” and “Kusina Gaffa hakuendwi” have dominated discussions, as fans demand answers regarding his exclusion from the annual spectacle.
Despite the uproar, organizers have remained silent on the reason behind the decision, sparking speculation about potential underlying motives.
Meanwhile, supporters of Winky D continue to rally for his inclusion, arguing that the Castle Tankard is incomplete without his presence.
