Newborn Found Alive Under Harare Bridge – A sh0cking case of baby abandonment has surfaced after a newborn boy was discovered under a bridge in Harare.

The baby, left inside a black duffle bag, was found beneath the Mukuvisi River bridge near the intersection of Manchester Road and Craster Road in Southerton on April 1 as reported by ZimLive.

Alerted by passersby, authorities quickly intervened, and the infant was rushed to Sally Mugabe Hospital for urgent medical attention. Fortunately, he was still alive despite being exposed to the elements.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are appealing to the public for information.

National police spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi urged anyone with relevant details to report to the nearest police station.

Baby dumping remains a growing concern in Zimbabwe, often attributed to economic hardships and a lack of access to legal abortion services.

Authorities continue to emphasize the importance of seeking help from social welfare services, warning that abandoning infants endangers their lives and is a punishable offense.
